Tutoring

Through systematic, time tested IEW methods, students can learn the mechanics of writing as well as stylistic techniques which help them develop their own unique voices and styles. Mary Yapel is currently the tutor for AIE:)

What People Are Saying…

“The June Adventures In Excellence book club was great. Miss Lucca did a very good job digging into the deeper meaning of the book we read. It didn’t really feel like a class. It felt more like meeting with friends to talk about a good book. I am excited to do the Shakespeare book club this July, and I am trying to decide between the Shakespeare Course and the Tale of Two Cities book club for this fall.”

“After taking two years of Composition Class with Adventures in Excellence, my 8th grader showed significant improvement on his standardized test scores across all sections related to writing. In addition to writing competence, Adventures in Excellence classes have also increased his writing confidence. He has become pen pals and writes regularly to someone from Youth Group, something I believe he wouldn’t have chosen to do before taking these writing classes.”

“At the completion of a four week summer workshop with Adventures in Excellence, my 12yo son said, "Absolutely yes!" when I asked him if we should sign up for the fall. Previously, writing was his very least favorite subject, but Jacqueline was able to build his confidence and skill even over a short period of time. The online meetings were fun and enjoyable and the homework was clear. We will be returning in the fall.”

“My daughter just finished her first course with Adventures in Excellence and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Jacqueline was a great communicator, an organized facilitator, and an all-around fun mentor for my daughter who loved every discussion session. The assignments were varied and appropriate and the discussion sessions were lively and inclusive. Awesome experience, I highly recommend!”

“I just finished The Hobbit book club and I had a great time! Miss Lucca was really good at taking all of our ideas and making it fun! She was exceptionally great at helping us dive deeper into what we were reading and explaining what it meant. We did a short writing assignment and I loved how we got to hear each other's papers and ideas! I had an excellent time with this book club and would definitely do it again!”
