Classes: Thursdays at 11am (CST)

Delving into new literary worlds, students will explore story elements such as character, setting, and plot. They will also be challenged to ponder deep themes and develop critical thinking skills. This 12-week, semester-long course will meet once a week via zoom for an interactive 50-minute classroom session. While there will be short writing assignments throughout the semester, our primary focus will be building a deeper appreciation and understanding of the books we read.

Book List:

Persuasion by Jane Austen

Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

The Ballad of the White Horse by G. K. Chesterton

Poetry from Gerard Manly Hopkins, Lewis Carroll, Alfred Lord Tennyson, and Dylan Thomas (I will provide links to these poems.)
